REET Eligibility Criteria 2023: Educational Qualification, Age Limit and More

The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education holds an annual Eligibility Examination for Teachers. This exam is a fantastic chance for students who desire to pursue a career in education. The REET exam determines candidates’ eligibility to teach in Rajasthan’s primary and upper primary schools.

Candidates who want to appear in the REET exam must know the eligibility criteria of REET to confirm their candidature in the Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test.  

On that note, let’s discuss the educational qualification, age limit, and other important details regarding REET 2023 eligibility criteria that candidates must go through before filling out the REET application form.

REET Educational Qualification 

The required level of education for candidates to take the REET exam has been specified by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education. Candidates must meet the minimal educational requirements for RTET 2023 in order to be eligible to sit for the REET exam. There are two levels—Level 1 and Level 2—to the REET exam. To determine a candidate’s eligibility to teach in Rajasthan’s primary schools (1–5), they must pass the REET Level 1 test. On the other hand, the REET Level 2 exam is used to ascertain a candidate’s eligibility to work as an upper primary teacher (6 to 8) in schools in Rajasthan.

REET Educational Qualification for Primary Teacher  

The following information outlines the educational requirements to appear in REET for Level 1- Primary Teacher:

Candidates must have completed their senior year of high school with at least a 50% grade (or an equivalent) and passed or be enrolled in the final year of the 2nd-year Elementary Education Diploma program.

Or,  

Candidates must have completed their senior year of high school with at least a 50% grade (or an equivalent) and passed or be enrolled in the final year of their fourth year of their bachelor’s degree in elementary education.

Or, 

Candidates must have completed or be enrolled in the final year of the second-year diploma in education with at least a senior high school diploma with at least 50% of the required marks.

Or,  

Passed or enrolled in the last year of a two-year Elementary Education Diploma.

REET Educational Qualification for Upper Primary Teacher  

The following information outlines the educational requirements to sit for REET Level 2- Upper Primary Teacher:

Successful completion of the last year of a two-year elementary education diploma program.

Or,  

A bachelor’s degree in education with at least a 50% average and passing or enrolling in the program.

Or, 

Graduation with a minimum Score of 45% and passing or enrolling in a 1-year Bachelor of Education program, as per the periodically updated NCTE Regulations in this area.

Or, 

a 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with at least a 50% mark average in Senior Secondary (or an equivalent) and passing or appearing in the final year (B.El.Ed).

Or, 

Passing or enrolling in the final year of a four-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed program with at least a 50% mark in Senior Secondary (or an equivalent).

Or, 

Graduation with a minimum of 50 percent marks and completing or appearing in a 1-year B.Ed.

Or, 

Passing the final year of a two-year Bachelor of Education program or having a graduate degree.

REET Age Limit 2023 

The upcoming REET exam now includes the age restriction criterion. Candidates must be aware of the age requirements in order to take the Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test (RTET 2023). The lowest age to take the REET exam is 18, while the maximum age varies depending on the category. The table below provides the category-specific age limit criteria:
